Hello, forum members, here is April's Ani-Walls.net Forum newsletter, courtesy your kind administrator...
Those of you who are registered wallpaper artists probably already got the message, but April is the debut month of the Abstract Image Contest. If you're not aware, each month from April - June, a stock image will be provided, the challenge is to create an original image incorporating it. A top winner out of each monthly winner will be given a fantastic prize (yet to be decided on... stay tuned)! The April contest started a little late, but there are still a few days to create an entry. At least stop into the topic and see the great images created thus far by Shrikekeet, Luchs, bubu, and myself (okay, I'm not eligible for a prize), with varying themes of Mother Nature, peace and quiet, future generations, and knowledge/wisdom.
On the General Chat board, there's plenty of sci-fi related talk. Maybe you can hop into the Chronicles of Riddick thread and shed a little light for your ignorant admin. At least stop in to the Star Wars: Episode II thread. If not to share your excitement for the upcoming feature, you can state your side in the never-ending Jar Jar debate. Looks like Luchs is the only one who wouldn't mind seeing the Gungan (no, I'm not bother to check that spelling) ripped apart by droids, Jedis, clones, or anything else that would permanently shut his yap. Maybe you disagree? ^_~
In anime-related discussion (oh, yes, we do like anime here, right?), how about the news that anime giant Toei Animation and the US Cartoon Network are teaming up to create an anime version of the Powerpuff Girls? Yes, I was skeptical, but I now have a link with pictures. Check it out! Blossom looks cute, but I'm still weirded out.
Two more anime discussions you might want to add your two cents to are Best Anime Soundtracks -- yes, I think we all love Yoko Kanno, so you have any surprises for me? -- and Overlooked Anime Characters, where we're talking about those poor, noble characters who, as Luchs puts it, "deserve to be noticed not by few, but by many?" (PS, am I heavy on the Luchs references this letter, or what? Hop in there and give some competition, people!)
In more obscurely otaku-related talk, how about helping me out in the Where would you go in Japan thread? Some of us ::cough::me::cough:: are having a rough time trying to figure out the best places to visit in Japan, the land of the rising sun/birthplace of our fandom. Share your ideas, even if you've never been!
I still haven't had enough input on the Ranks: Yay or Nay? poll to decide whether or not to have them, so if you haven't voted, go ahead and do it before I end up labeling some of you "Nasty Tourists" from your 0 - 5 post counts! ;-P
I'll end the newsletter with a quick mentioning of our newest members: julia, Racer x racer, Vorpal_Claymore, Chaos Freak, krod, and apowe. If you fresh faces haven't posted yet, the best place to start is in Introductions! Come on, I know you have interesting thoughts to add, so don't worry... we won't bite.
Once again, you can leave newsletter feedback in the Forum Newsletter thread or by e-mail or pm, and, from your friendly neighborhood administrator,
Keep posting, best wishes, etc.,
SenshiG
